Led the full-stack technical delivery of a multi-million pound digital transformation programme, building an Azure microservices platform with Dynamics CRM integration for a major UK housing association.

The Challenge

The client is one of the UK's major housing associations. They were embarking on a multi-million pound digital transformation programme to replace outdated, manual processes with a modern tenant portal and mobile application. The project needed a technical lead who could architect a complex Azure and Dynamics-based platform while also managing a large development team through an agile delivery process.

What We Delivered

We led the full-stack technical delivery for a team of 15 developers, taking on Scrum Master responsibilities alongside hands-on architecture and development.

The tenant portal gave residents self-service access to repairs reporting, account management, and communications for the first time. It was built on an Azure microservices architecture with Dynamics CRM integration at its core. APIs were designed for scale using App Services, Service Bus, Logic Apps, Blob Storage, and Functions.

The front end used a component-based approach with AngularJS and Angular, giving the team flexibility to iterate quickly as requirements evolved. Authentication was handled through Identity Server, providing secure access across all platform touchpoints.

Throughout the engagement, we stayed hands-on in the codebase while mentoring junior developers, managing the scrum process, and keeping stakeholders aligned across the programme. For a project of this scale and complexity, that combination of technical depth and delivery leadership was essential.

The platform transformed how tenants interact with the housing association. Manual processes were replaced with a digital experience that residents actually use, and internal teams gained the data and tools they needed to deliver better services.
